Storex is comitted to not only providing a stylish, quality product, but also providing an environmentally friendly one. Storex product, for many reason are the most sustainable. While you browse are site or see our items in store, consider the following:
PVC-free
Storex office supplies have always been and will always be 100% PVC-free. PVC is a constant concern since it contains many hazardous chemicals. Phtalates are added to PVC plastics to make them transparent and flexible. They also happen to be a dangerous carcinogen. When PVC is incinerated, it produces dioxin; an extremely toxic gas that has been linked to cancer and reproductive impairment.
Buying Local
Storex is a Canadian company. Our items are shipped from our warehouse in Lasalle, Quebec. This means that our products are not transported overseas and do not emit the same degree of pollution in their transit. Buying local has always been the greenest choice.
Reusable
"Reduce, reuse and recycle" has always been the creed when it comes to thinking green. The three R's are also presented in order of importance. It's better to reuse than recycle. Recycling, though it reduces the consumption strain on virgin materials, still consumes a significant amount of energy in the transportation and processing phases. Storex binders are the greenest choice because of their durability. Most recyclable binders can be used for one semester before they begin to show discoloration and fraying. Storex binders, however, will not fray and are dishwasher safe. Instead of spending another $50 on binders, you can simply pile your supplies in the dishwasher and have them come out fresh and usable again.
Recyclable
When the time does come to part with your Storex binder, know that it is 100% recyclable. Simply remove the rings and throw the plastic frame in your blue bin.
Post-consumer recycled
Storex products are made from 25%-100% post consumer recycled materials. this means that the Storex items you purchase are made from previously gathered and recycled plastic items. We feel it to be our responsibility to constantly strive to reduce dependence on virgin materials so as to minimize any effect on the environment. |
